Colchester, Vermont – August 24, 2021: NuHarbor Security today announced the addition of Jack Danahy as Vice President of Product and Engineering. Danahy brings over 30 years of cybersecurity industry experience and an extensive background building security technology to fuel company growth and market expansion.
Danahy is responsible for strategic solution development at NuHarbor. He will lead the product and engineering teams as they define and deliver a comprehensive unified platform of security solutions, integrating expert assessment and architecture review, ongoing active security testing, compliance readiness, threat hunting, monitoring, and incident response.
Prior to joining NuHarbor, Danahy founded and led three successful companies, each acquired by security market leaders. He has held executive leadership positions at AlertLogic, IBM, and WatchGuard and has been granted 12 patents for his work in security analysis, administration, and machine learning. Widely regarded as an industry thought leader, Danahy is frequently interviewed and published on issues driving the future of the cybersecurity market, including the evolution of security services, the growth and monetization of cyber threats, and the prioritization of outcomes over capabilities.
“The cybersecurity market is undergoing significant changes. One of those changes is how cybersecurity is consumed in the market. Our new platform not only provides complete security program awareness but also delivers security services that provide continuous value versus a point-in-time solution. To deliver on an initiative such as this requires a unique combination of vision, cybersecurity expertise, and market awareness. Jack is a rare combination of these skills. Most importantly, from the moment I met Jack I knew he would be cultural fit for our Crew,” said Justin Fimlaid, CEO.
As VP of Product and Engineering, Danahy will play an integral role in NuHarbor’s next phase of growth. He will spearhead product development with construction of the first unified platform for trusted cybersecurity management, and advance NuHarbor’s distinctive customer-centric approach by enhancing security visibility in a holistic and consumable way. The NuHarbor platform combines expert security recommendations with multi-source security telemetry and business data, providing clients broad insight into their cybersecurity journey. To further the company’s focus on emerging customer needs, Danahy will also steer market research efforts among clients and partners to identify their priorities and most pressing cybersecurity challenges.
Danahy says, “I’m very fortunate to have been introduced to NuHarbor in late 2020. The company’s vision and success as a provider of a full suite of security services in support of the broad needs of CISOs and CIOs maps neatly to requirements I’ve seen and have been talking about since the acceleration in sophisticated attack activity around 2016. The platform we’re creating will provide customers with situational awareness and measures that inform security decisions in the context of their own critical business issues. I’m excited to help deliver on the NuHarbor promise and vision.”
